
ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Kyle Troup, Bill O’Neill, BJ Moore and Kris Prather will battle for the 2019 PBA Scorpion Championship title tonight.
The finals will take place at 8 p.m. today live from Thunderbowl Lanes on FS1 for U.S. audiences and on FloBowling for international audiences. Each player survived two rounds of best-of-five matches Tuesday to advance to the show.
Moore upset top seed Jason Belmonte in the Round of 16 with a 3-0 sweep and then defeated Thomas Larsen, 3-1, to earn a spot on the show.
Prather was down 2-1 against Norm Duke in the Round of 16 but threw 22 consecutive strikes to close out the match and win 3-1. He beat Anthony Simonsen in the Round of 8 by a score of 3-0.
Troup took down Shawn Maldonado, 3-1, while O’Neill defeated EJ Tackett, 3-2, in Round of 8 matches to make the show.
The format for tonight’s show is the same as it was for the Cheetah and Chameleon shows with the four finalists bowling a one-game seeding round to kick things off.
The highest score in the seeding round will be placed directly into the championship match as the No. 1 seed. The second highest score will be seeded into the semifinal, while the third and fourth scores will face in the first match.
