Match 23: Barrett def. Butturff, 241-229 (USA 14, Europe 9)
European captain Dom Barrett salvaged a point to close out the day for his side as he defeated Jakob Butturff, 241-229, as Europe trails the USA 14-9 heading into the final day.
The USA will need to win just four more points on the final day to win the Weber Cup, while Europe will need to take eight matches.
After struggling earlier in the day, Barrett took a different approach on the 40-foot pattern playing the lanes much straighter. The move paid off as he struck in five of his first six frames to build a 35-pin lead and roll past Butturff.
The final day of competition will be a mix of doubles, singles and Baker matches as a champion will be determined Friday regardless of how many matches it takes.

Match 22: Simonsen def. Palermaa, 254-220 (USA 14, Europe 8)
With the lanes hooking considerably, both two-handers tried to get as far left as possible, and in the end Anthony Simonsen took a 254-220 victory over Osku Palermaa. Team USA now leads 14-8 and is four wins away from claiming the Weber Cup.
The unique one-lane setup at Mandalay Bay makes it tough for the players to get too far right as there’s a drop off. As the lanes got crispy, Simonsen and Palermaa both went to lofts to try and strike.
Simonsen executed more quality shots, striking six times, while Palermaa had just four strikes, one of which was a Brooklyn.
Palermaa missed a chance to put any pressure on Simonsen in the final frame. Had he struck, Simonsen would have needed eight, spare to win. Instead Palermaa left a 10 pin and missed it.
It appears there will only be one more match today. At the top of the session, they had eight matches on the schedule but now there are only seven. Jakob Butturff bowls Dom Barrett next.

Match 21: Troup def. Barrett, 278-235 (USA 13, Europe 8)
The momentum is now clearly in Team USA’s corner as Kyle Troup blasted Dom Barrett, 278-235, to push the U.S. lead to 13-8. Team USA is now just five wins away from claiming Weber Cup XX.
Troup struck in eight of his 10 frames, the only exceptions being four pins in the first and seventh frames as he really never gave Barrett a chance in the match.
Barrett, trailing by 10 pins after five frames, fell even further behind when he left the 4-7 in the sixth and a four pin in the seventh.
The USA looks to continue the momentum when Anthony Simonsen takes on Osku Palermaa in the next match.

Match 20: Barnes def. Williams, 246-176 (USA 12, Europe 8)
Chris Barnes helped Team USA get its mojo back as he defeated Stu Williams, 246-176, to push the U.S. overall lead to 12-8.
After throwing seven strikes in a win against Anthony Simonsen earlier in the session, Williams looked completely out of sorts against Barnes. Things started to get weird for Williams in the third frame when he left the headpin on a shot way wide right.
In the next frame, he left a 4-9 split and then stuck, nearly fell and stumbled over the foul line on the spare attempt. He just never looked comfortable throughout.
Barnes got off to a shaky start by leaving and missing the 2-5 combination in the first frame and then leaving a big four split in the fifth frame. However, he popped four straight strikes from frames six through nine to easily pull away.
Next up is Kyle Troup against Dom Barrett.

Match 19: Svensson def. Butturff, 243-212 (USA 11, Europe 8)
After losing five consecutive matches, the Europeans have now won two in a row as they slowly attempt to mount a comeback. Jesper Svensson defeated Jakob Butturff, 243-212, to narrow the USA lead to 11-8 in the race to 18 points.
Svensson dominated Butturff from the start, opening with four strikes in the first five frames to build a 21-pin lead and cruise to the victory.
Butturff looked confused and lost at times, leaving splits for opens in the fourth and sixth frames in the blow out.
The next matchup should be a good one as Stu Williams takes on Chris Barnes. Both players appeared to have pretty good ball reaction on today’s 40-foot pattern in earlier matches.

Match 18: Williams def. Simonsen, 267-242 (USA 11, Europe 7)
Just as things seemed to be slipping away from Europe, Stu Williams stepped in and got a win for his side by defeating Anthony Simonsen, 267-242, to cut the USA lead to 11-7.
Williams bowled a solid game throughout, starting with three consecutive strikes before leaving and making a four pin. He popped a couple more strikes in the fifth and sixth to build a 25-pin lead.
In the final frame, Williams needed just a mark to secure the win and he threw a horrible shot with a runaway Brooklyn carrying the five pin late for a strike. Either way, it got the job done.
Simonsen struck in three of his first four frames before hitting a rough patch. He left a 6-9-10 in the fifth and a 6-10 in the sixth, making both, to fall into a hole.
Jakob Butturff and Jesper Svensson will battle on the left side in Match 19 next.

Match 17: Barnes def. Barrett, 234-188 (USA 11, Europe 6)
Team captain Chris Barnes helped the USA carry the momentum it had to end Day 2 into Day 3 as he knocked off European captain Dom Barrett, 234-188, to push the USA lead to 11-6.
The opening match of the day was a total disaster for Barrett as he could not have gotten off to a worse start. He left a 6-7-10 split in the first frame and a 4-9 split in the second frame, missing both to fall behind by 42 pins.
Barrett eventually made a ball change in the fourth frame and struck, but then followed it up with a 4-7-10 split for another open.
Barnes, meanwhile, was all smiles as he blasted four strikes in a row before leaving back-to-back four pins. After a strike in the seventh frame, the match was all but over.
Next up us Anthony Simonsen against Stu Williams as Europe will try to stop the bleeding.

Day 3 features all singles battles
For the third day of the Weber Cup, there will exclusively be singles matches. The schedule originally had nine matches for today but it appears they have cut it back to eight.
The day will begin with Chris Barnes taking on Dom Barrett in Match 17 followed by Anthony Simonsen vs. Stu Williams and Jakob Butturff against Jesper Svensson.
Barnes will be back in action for Match 20 as he takes on Williams, while Kyle Troup battles Barrett in Match 21.
Simonsen and Palermaa will meet in Match 22, Butturff and Barrett will face off in Match 23 and the day will conclude with another Barnes vs. Williams matchup.
Europe selected the lane pattern for today and they went with a 40-foot pattern with a 4.2:1 ratio.
Team USA leads the Weber Cup 10-6 and needs just eight more victories to secure the cup. If they sweep today's action, it will end the event.
