After nearly 14 years with Storm, Osku Palermaa has joined the staff of Columbia 300 and will be the European Sales Manager for Ebonite International.

The five-time PBA Tour champion from Finland said Friday during practice for the PBA Chesapeake Open that it was an opportunity he simply couldn’t pass up.

Palermaa’s biggest career victory came at the 2011-12 PBA World Championship, while his most recent win came at the 2015 Bowling World Open in Japan.

“We are honored to have Osku representing the brands of Ebonite International on and off the lanes,” Rob Gotchall, EBI’s Manger of Players and Performance, said in a release. “He’s a world-class competitor and person whom we feel is going to add tremendous value in everything he does.”

Palermaa joined the PBA Tour in 2009 and, along with Australia’s Jason Belmonte, helped usher in the era of two-handed bowling on the tour.

“I’ve been a professional bowler for nearly half of my life and on this journey, I’ve been fortunate to travel around the world and especially Europe,” Palermaa said in the release. “I’ve learned a lot about the different cultures.”

Palermaa will make his debut throwing EBI equipment at this weekend’s PBA Chesapeake Open, which will be broadcast live on FloBowling starting Saturday.
