FloBowling will tell the story of PBA star Anthony Simonsen’s tough rise to prominence in its first documentary, which debuts Sept. 4.

"Simonsen: Leave It Behind" will be released live at Noon Eastern on Sept. 4 exclusively on FloBowling.com. The documentary interviews people close to Simonsen and tells how he overcame the odds to become one of bowling’s biggest stars.

Simonsen, 22, has won six PBA Tour titles and became the youngest major champion in the sport’s history when he won the USBC Masters in 2016.

But his ascension to the top hasn’t been easy. He came from a tough family environment with very little money and eventually dropped out of high school during his freshman year to become a professional bowler.

“He fought and did what he had to do to get out of the situation he was in in life,” 2003-04 PBA Rookie of the Year Chris Johnson says in the teaser for the documentary. “Man, that’s hard for me to talk about.”

"Simonsen: Leave It Behind" will have a private screening for players on the PBA Tour on Sunday night after the practice session for the FloBowling PBA Summer Swing. Fans will hear the reactions from bowling’s biggest stars to the documentary throughout the week at the Summer Swing live on FloBowling.
