With One Event Left, Rash Still Tops Summer Tour Points

Sean Rash remained at the top of the FloBowling PBA Summer Tour points list after Thursday night's PBA Bear Open, but the final event of the season will determine who ends up being the overall leader.

The FloBowling PBA Illinois Open, which will be contested through Saturday, will award 5,000 points to the winner and could help a number of players move past Rash.

Rash took the lead after winning the PBA Wolf Open on Tuesday and improved his points total with a 14th-place finish in the Bear Open. He currently has 7,235 points.

Anthony Simonsen's win in the Bear Open moved him up to second place with 5,960 points, while Kyle Sherman, who finished third in the Bear Open, is third with 5,818.

EJ Tackett, who lost to Simonsen in the Bear Open final, is fourth with 5,670, and AJ Johnson is fifth with 5,560. Jakob Butturff (5,120), Bill O'Neill (5,120) and Tommy Jones (4,780) round out the top eight.

The top eight players in points will earn spots in the FloBowling ATX Invite, a special event to be held in Austin, Texas, on Sept. 21. Those eight will also earn spots in the PBA China Tiger Cup, an event that will be held in November. The top five will cash in the special USBC Cup prize list.
