This is the seventh of a seven-part series looking back on Anthony Simonsen’s titles on the PBA Tour. Be sure to watch FloBowling’s first documentary titled “Simonsen: Leave It Behind” live on Sept. 4 at Noon Eastern.

Just days after watching a special players-only screening of “Simonsen: Leave It Behind,” Anthony Simonsen claimed his seventh career PBA Tour title.

Simonsen survived one of the most dramatic championship matches in PBA history when he finished regulation tied with EJ Tackett at 267-267. Simonsen then won in double overtime when he struck after Tackett left a four pin.

After the win, Simonsen said seeing Jason Belmonte’s comments about him in the documentary provided him inspiration.

“I think it just gave me a little different mindset,” Simonsen said. “For him to go out on record in a public scene was pretty cool, and I think it just opened up my mind a little more.”
