2019 Season

Early in 2019, it looked like Svensson was back to his dominant form that won five titles between 2015 and 2017, including the 2016 Tournament of Champions. He qualified for each of the first two shows in 2019 (and nearly the third), but then we didn’t see his name near the top of the leaderboard very often until a seventh-place finish in Chesapeake, Virginia, in August. Svensson finished the year stronger than he began, winning his eighth PBA Tour title in the WBT Thailand event and fighting to a 12^th-place finish in the U.S. Open.

2020 Outlook

The 2020 season begins with the same two events Svensson did so well in this year – the Hall of Fame Classic and Oklahoma Open – and he’ll contend in both again. The difference in 2020 is Svensson will continue his success beyond the first two events and likely make a strong run in at least one of the majors in February. This could be a breakout year for Svensson, which is odd to say since he already had one (or three) of those.
