In all, 10 players from the PWBA Tour were selected to join two expansion teams in the PBA League. It’s the first time all-female teams will compete in the league.

O’Keefe, a 13-time PWBA champion, led the points list on the women’s tour last season and Phoenix manager Kim Terrell-Kearney used the top pick to select her.

Joining O’Keefe on the Phoenix Fury is Liz Johnson, Jordan Richard, Stefanie Johnson and Maria Jose Rodriguez.

Miami manager Bob Learn Jr. used the second overall pick to select five-time PWBA champion Danielle McEwan to join his squad. Learn also selected Dasha Kovalova, Clara Guerrero, Liz Kuhlkin and Missy Parkin.

The PBA League was originally scheduled to happen this month but was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic. With the cancelation of the PWBA Tour this season, the PBA decided to add to women’s teams to the league.

The 12 teams in the league will compete Sept. 27 and 28. The quarterfinals will be broadcast live at Noon Eastern and 7 p.m. Eastern on Sept. 27. The semifinals will take place Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. Eastern and be followed by the finals at 9 p.m. Eastern.
