CENTREVILLE, Va. – Jakob Butturff, Darren Tang, BJ Moore and Carsten Hansen will compete for the 2020 PBA Scorpion Championship title after surviving two rounds of match play Friday.

The finals of the Scorpion Championship will air Monday at 9 p.m. Eastern on FS1 (United States) and FloBowling (international).

Butturff was the only one of the four to win his match in a sweep as he took down Marshall Kent, 3-0, at Bowlero Centreville. Looking for his first title of the season, Butturff defeated Kent 197-193, 207-169 and 232-155.

The other matches all finished with the advancers winning by a 3-2 margin, the most intense being Tang’s win over Jason Belmonte.

Needing a double in the final frame to knock out Belmonte, Tang delivered and won the deciding game 235-226. Tang won the first game of the match 234-213 before Belmonte rallied with wins of 257-193 and 232-181. Tang won Game 4 by a score of 232-162.

Moore took a 2-0 lead on Brad Miller with wins of 244-150 and 214-186 but had to work to put him away. Miller rallied with wins of 227-221 and 205-181. In the end, Moore was able to take control of the match with a 258-224 win in Game 5.

Hansen, who is from Denmark, advanced to his first career PBA Tour TV show as he knocked off Jesper Svensson, 3-2.

In the back-and-forth match, Hansen won the opening game 204-183, lost the second 232-220, won the third 234-221, lost the fourth 230-223 and took the match with a 217-169 win in Game 5.
