With 14 games completed at the 2021 PBA Lubbock Sports Open, Shawn Maldonado leads the field of 16 players who have advanced into match play.

The field will now bowl eight games of modified round robin match play starting at 1:15 p.m. Eastern. The top four players after 22 total games will bowl in the stepladder finals at 5 p.m. Eastern live on FloBowling.

Maldonado, who led after Saturday’s qualifying, stayed in the top spot by just 10 pins. He has a 14-game total of 3,242, a 231.57 average at South Plains Lanes in Lubbock, Texas.

After barely making the first cut by two pins, Michael Tang made a huge run in the cashers round Sunday morning as he moved from 40th place to second. Tang has totaled 3,232, an average of 230.86.

Sitting in third place with eight games to go is Toby Sambueno with 3,204. Dino Castillo is fourth with 3,198, while Anthony Simonsen is fifth with 3,194.

Other players advancing into match play include Kyle Troup, Stu Williams, Michael Davidson, Anthony Lavery-Spahr, Nick Pate, Tom Daugherty, Dom Barrett, Jake Peters, Darren Tang, Andrew Anderson and DJ Archer.

The PBA Lubbock Sports Open is the first of a five-event PBA Summer Tour, all of which will be broadcast live exclusively on FloBowling.
