Even though he has the No. 4 seed, you could argue it’s been a season full of frustration for Simonsen.

Simonsen has made had made more than a half dozen shows this year and hasn’t been able to come away with a win. At the U.S. Open and the PBA World Championship, he lost to Jason Belmonte to finish second.

Allen, meanwhile, was able to survive and advance against Dom Barrett with a solid 227-190 win after he was able to solve the left lane.

Who has the edge? The lanes looked a little tough last week and Simonsen loves to use urethane to take the lane out of play. If he can do that, this should be an easy win for the two-hander. Edge: Simonsen.
