Over the past few years, O’Neill has had some of the best seasons of his career and established himself as one of the best players in the world behind Jason Belmonte.

His 2020 season has been solid overall and he picked up a win at the 2020 PBA Players Championship. That win came a week after finishing second at the PBA Tournament of Champions, an impressive display in back-to-back weeks.

As is required to mention when writing about Johnson, he’s still looking for his first career PBA Tour title. He made it through his Round of 24 match against Kyle Sherman with no trouble at all, cruising to a 223-166 victory.

Who has the edge? Johnson is physically throwing the ball great right now and looked really solid against Sherman. O’Neill, however, is still at another level and his experience in big moments gives him the edge.
