The schedule of upcoming events on the PBA Tour, which includes all five majors, got even more important Wednesday as the PBA announced the PBA Playoffs will return starting in late April.

The top 16 players in points for the 2021 season will participate in the Playoffs for the $100,000 prize and a tour title. The past two years the top 24 players in points took part in the event.

Points will be based on performance in the PBA Players Championship, Tournament of Champions, World Series of Bowling (inclusive of all five events), the USBC Masters and the U.S. Open.

The PBA Players Championship is already partially completed with the rest of the events scheduled for the coming months. Bowling fans will be able to watch qualifying and match play from all events live on FloBowling.

The 2021 PBA Playoffs will stretch out over four weeks with two shows each week starting April 24. The PBA did not announce the location of the event only saying in a release it would be “announced at a later date.”

The 16 players in the bracket-style event will compete in a best-of-three points format. They will bowl two full games and if a tiebreaker is necessary the third point is determined by a ninth and 10th frame rolloff, which was the format used for the 2019 event.

Kris Prather won the inaugural PBA Playoffs in 2019 for his first career PBA Tour title, while Bill O’Neill won the 2020 event.

Here’s the schedule of the PBA Playoffs shows with all times Eastern. All shows will be broadcast on FS1 (U.S.) and FloBowling (international).
