10. Tom Smallwood

Career Titles: 3 (2 majors)
Age: 43
2020 Earnings: $61,500 (rank: 12)
2020 Points: 9,740 (rank: 14)
2020 Peak Ranking: 10
2020 Low Ranking: Unranked

2020 Season

While Smallwood only qualified for one televised finals appearance (excluding the PBA Playoffs), he finished in the top 10 five times. He made match play in two of the four majors – his best major finish was 15th in the Players Championship – and was no lower than 29th in the others. In the Playoffs, Smallwood took out Chris Barnes in the opening round, EJ Tackett in the next round and Brad Miller in the Round of 8 before finally losing to Bill O’Neill in the semifinals.

2021 Outlook

Smallwood ranked 12th in earnings and 14th in points, but he’s 10th in our preseason rankings as the 2021 season should start favorably for him. The Players Championship, which he won in 2018, was seventh in 2019 and 15th in 2020, generally rewards tough players, and there aren’t many players tougher than Smallwood. The three-time PBA Tour champion showed as much during the PBA Playoffs and will be able to carry that momentum into the 2021 season.
